How practical is it to become an actuary for a foreigner?

Bertuary, OME876, ShivamS and gcact. Thanks a lot, what i have realised is that no matter how hard you try, how many exams i pass i won't be having any kind of edge over the citizens. So i guess I quit now. I have to find some other way to get into the America. Maybe I can open a Franchise like Hampton or Jiffy Lube. I can earn quite well. I will get a green card in two years if i can give employment to at least 10 Ameerican. That sounds more realistic.

I know some foreigners who have made it. They've also convinced the company to apply for their green card. However, this may very well be the minority.

I don't know why you're saying the Indian market is not good for actuaires. I know they make less money there, but aren't there job opportunities? Having some experience in India seems like it could only help your chances of getting an actuarial job in the U.S.

Also, get over wanting to be financially independent before you get married. You seem industrious, so I bet you'll figure out how to make money if you make it to the U.S.
