A Chinese student went to America to fulfill his parents' dream of become a respected professional in a prestigious field. He didn't do well in medical classes but did reasonably well in math. When he called his parents to tell them he wasn't going to apply to med school they asked him, "So, what kind of doctor are you going to become? Neurologist? Heart surgeon?" He stammered, "Actuary..." |

![]() Also, more and more people continue to hear about actuaries largely in part because of the continued media publications placing us as the #1 job in US or close to it.
To me, it's more prestigious when someone hears you are an actuary than a lawyer, which I guess I already posted above this morning. But beyond that, it also gives people an impression that you are really smart or at least really really good at math! Haha, let's toot our own horn some more. |
