Default Cubicle monthly rent

What's the monthly rent on your cube?

I think you can just ask...I suppose most people just don't care to, though.

I suppose I could ask. But yeah, I'm not going to ask what my department gets charged for the space.

It's part of the expenses used for ratemaking or reserving purposes.

Yeah, the sort of fixed expense that just gets thrown into a big amorphous lump for ratemaking purposes.

I should know in a few weeks. Loooong story of my company selling off business units. Short story is there are seven people left in our current building (out of about 700) still with our parent company. We are moving to new digs this summer. I’m in charge of it all, which is fine, if a bit annoying.

It’s gonna be expensive. Lots of up front stuff for furniture, internet stuff, security, etc. The ongoing should be around $75k/yr, and we have enough space for about 12 people to facilitate some expansion. That includes a break room and two conference rooms, so I will leave it to the reader to think about how you might allocate this down to the cube or office level. I think we have six offices and six cubes.
