The actuarial profession in Cyprus

...

My cousin also gave in her dissertation about Actuaries in Cyprus - for the love of god!!! - and i am done reading drafts of it! That is a cause for celebration! Yes it was that boring but i love her so i would have probably read it another 100 times if she asked me to. No am not getting emotional due to old age!

I've asked the blogger to email me the dissertation.

I cannot recall any actuarial clients in Cyprus.

Another link that may be useful: Insurance Association of Cyprus (http://www.iac.org.cy/). About 95% of the Insurance companies in Cyprus are represented (according to the website).

If you go under Insurance Statistics you can also get a brief overview of the Cyprus market (premiums written).

Recent financial news also talk about possible buyouts in the Cyprus Industry. Some websites you can research (if interested) are:

http://www.financialmirror.com/

From my knowledge, a large percentage of Cypriot actuaries are qualified under the UK system. Some reasons for that are that "travel time" through the UK system is faster and also because the Cyprus constitution is very similar to the British.

I hope this helps!
