Note that the DP Case Study was just released today as well. For this one, it will only be used for Segment C. From the SOA regarding the DP Case Study:
"Please note: For the Fall 2019 session the case study is only being used on Segment C."
So that means that most of you taking the US FV exam will not have a Case Study (if you're taking full FV or FV-A/DP-A).

The only ones that would have a case study would be those who already had Advanced credit and need Core credit, thus taking the FV-C/DP-C combo. (or those taking the Canadian FV exam)

woah this is big news. I feel like the case study is usually the worst part of these exams. Being exempt from a case altogether sounds wonderful

Wow I just hit the ACO section... The whole savings system is confusing (I am Canadian)

Looks like I will have to focus a bit more on this topic the 2nd time around

It looks like Canada candidates are not as fortunate.

For the Fall 2019 exam, the case study will not be used on the U.S. Segments A and C

So basically this doesn't bother us if we are Canadians taking DP-A and FV-A

Exactly. It only affects you if you are taking the Canadian version of FV-C.

It sounds like they'll be bringing in the Case Study for Spring 2020 for everyone, but if you pass the exam this sitting, that's not something you'll have to worry about!

I am worried

Because of the way they are going to grade this exam

The total score on the two parts is deemed sufficient to pass this as a full exam. The candidate receives credit for both segments and has now completed both the DP and FV requirements in full.

How are they going to do that with 2 different candidate IDs for the same person?

My understanding is that if you get 10/10 on DP-A and 5/10 on FV-A, your overall score is sufficient to pass both exams... If someone has 2 different candidate IDs, he might fail FV-A
