Default How many exam study hours are you given?

I was only given the 3 days before the exam. I was wondering if this was usual, or if I am getting ripped off.

I voted for what I get theoretically. Since most work takes priority over study, the odds of taking them all for a spring exam are slim.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIP!

3 weeks would be more appropriate. At three days they're wasting your time and theirs. Most seminars last longer.

Is this an insurance company?

this is a consulting pension company. Since we only have a few people in the office, it's hard to get out of here.

Then you have to ask the hard question: How much do you want to pay in reduced salary to keep that particular job.

Captian D, three days is plenty. Do you mean that it takes you longer than that to prepare for one of these exams?

But seriously, I think 100+ is pretty ridiculous as well. Blackadder, Do they actually let you go to a seminar on study time?

Yes, a seminar counts as study time for us.

Since I'm still interning, I'm not officially earning study time. But, through the whole interviewing process & all, it seems like many companies "give" you about 150 or so, I think. Somewhere around 1/2 of what is recommended for total study time you should devote toward your sitting. Some give x-hours per hour of exam and such, while others give a flat amount. Like someone asked, it depends on consulting or insurance. I did insurance internship over the summer and many people I talked to there were using it to get through their exams b/c they are more generous with hours, you 99.999% of the time get those hours, generally only have 40-45 hour work-weeks, and the study program is extremely strict, which keeps you focused and on track...whereas the consulting firms "say" you will get x-hours but your clients come first, so you might only end up w/half of the hours you were promised, or less. There were a few this past summer who had finally reached their FSA and were immediately planning on leaving b/c they only wanted to be with the company for their study program.

Us lowly interns, our decisions are based on do we want to pass or do we want to pay the bills??? :P

Really? After talking to candidates from various companies who've
come in here, that seems fairly standard.
